About Hayes
Smarty’s Nursery is an Ofsted registered nursery set in the beautiful safe and secure grounds of AFC Hayes. This 35 place nursery offers a well resourced play area both inside and outdoors, giving children the opportunity to play and learn safely.
Nursery hours are between 9AM – 3PM term time only, with a range of flexible sessions to suit each families needs.
Staff are extremely committed and experienced ensuring they are responsive to individual needs of each child. Staff have regular on going training including; up to date curriculum planning, First Aid, safeguarding children as well and other learning and development training.
Daily Routine
9am – 9.45am
Free Play
Children arrive and are encouraged to identify their name and post it in their key group box. They then have the opportunity to self select their chosen activity.
9.45am – 10am
Snack time
Children are given the option to have a healthy snack; fruit, crackers/breadsticks along with milk or water. They are given the opportunity to be independent when cutting fruit or pouring drinks.
10am – 11.30am
Focus activity & toileting/nappies
Children are split off into groups to take part in an adult led focus activity of the day. Hygiene routines can also take place around this time.
11.30am – 11.45am
Tidy up time
Children tidy away their activities along with a tidy up song. They are encouraged to wipe the table for snack time.
11.45am – 12pm
Music and story time
Children are divided into two groups and have the opportunity to choose favourite songs or share stories with the group.
12pm – 1pm
Home/arrival time & lunchtime
As sessions begin and end, staff and parents have a handover where feedback is given. Lunch is also served at this time for the children.
1pm – 1.15pm
Focus activity & quiet time
After lunch the children have quiet time where they can choose from activities such as construction or independent reading. Children not present for the morning session also have the opportunity to take part in the same adult led focus activity.
1.15pm – 1.45pm
Free play & toileting/nappies
Children have access to a range of activities, indoors and outdoors across all 7 areas of learning. Hyhiene routines again take place at this time.
2pm – 2.30pm
Snack time
Children are given the option to have a healthy snack; fruit, crackers/breadsticks along with milk or water. They are given the opportunity to be independent when cutting fruit or pouring drinks.
2.30pm – 2.45pm
Tidy up time
Children are encouraged to take pride in their nursery and put all the toys back into their correct boxes ready for music and story time.
2.45pm – 3pm
Music and story time
Children come together and have the opportunity to choose favourite songs or stories to share with the group.
3pm
Home time
Staff handover children to their parents, providing feedback on their day
