This term, our Hayes Nursery has been learning about ‘People that Help Us’ We had a Nurse from Harefield Hospital come to the nursery and spent the morning showing the children how to take a temperature and blood pressure. She showed the children a wide range of equipment. The children really enjoyed the morning and took part in activities and asked lots of important questions.
The children also went on a nursery trip to Hillingdon Fire Station, where they were shown around the whole station, meeting fireman who allowed them to go in the Fire Engine, spray the water and put the sirens on. They also had an opportunity to all go down the pole which the firemen do in an emergency. Again the children had a great time and learnt so much.
Smarty’s Nursery Hayes would like to thank both the Hillingdon Fire Service and a Nurse from Harefield Hospital for giving up their time, enabling children to have a deeper understanding of People that Help Us.
We will be having a visit to our Ruislip and West Drayton nurseries in June from Ruislip Fire Service & Hillingdon Fire Station, so all the children from all the nurseries will have an opportunity to experience the fire service and would like to extend our thanks to both fire services for visiting us.
A big thank you also to Cabin Coaches for supplying a coach and getting all our children there and back. We are so grateful
As part of our learning about people and communities, the children were taken to Uxbridge bus station. It was a brilliant trip and the children loved it. Thank you to Uxbridge bus station for all your help.
As always in July many children leave us to start the beginning of their formal education. We at Smarty’s Nursery would like to wish all our children the very best of luck in their futures and can’t wait to hear about all their exciting adventures.
